Shaana Wilk joined the team at James Dowsley & Associates in May 2010. She completed a Bachelor of Arts/Law at Deakin University and subsequently obtained Articles of Clerkship in Criminal Law and Commercial Litigation at Birch Ross & Barlow Solicitors. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in April of 2009 and since then has practised solely within the criminal law jurisdiction. Having been employed at James Dowsley & Associates Frankston office between May 2010 and April 2012, since May 2012 Ms Wilk has been the sole solicitor employed at James Dowsley & Associates’ office located in Moorabbin.
Ms Wilk strives to protect the rights of clients and understands that for many, the legal process can seem overwhelming. Ms Wilk has shown a key commitment to keeping clients informed and achieving the best possible outcomes for a wide range of clients. Ms Wilk regularly appears for clients facing a range of summary and indictable offences and whilst predominantly appearing in Magistrates’ Courts across Victoria she also appears in both the County and the Supreme Courts of Victoria. She has a wide range of experience across all areas of the criminal law jurisdiction including regularly attending at Summary Case Conferences, appearing at Contest Mentions, Plea Hearings, Contested Bail Applications, Committal Mentions and Contested Intervention Order Hearings. She also instructs Counsel and assists in the preparation of complex Criminal Trials handled by James Dowsley & Associates.
