Vanessa Anton

Vanessa completed an Advanced Diploma of Legal Practice in 2014, Bachelor of Law in 2019 and Graduates Diploma of Legal Practice in 2020, being admitted into practice in late 2020. Vanessa joined the JDA team in early 2023 working in the Frankston office.

Prior to this, Vanessa worked in the operations team for the Magistrates’ Court in the Family Violence sector. She has assisted senior solicitors in making amendments to draft legislation and liaising with the executives of the Magistrates’ Court, Victoria Police and Corrections Victoria.

Vanessa’s passion with the criminal justice system lies with understanding the complexities of client’s backgrounds and upbringing to tie in with the deeper reasoning for client’s offending. Vanessa further believes in the importance of rehabilitation and strives to not only get the best result for her clients, but support them in a professional nature to work towards a better life with the help of services available.

Vanessa regularly appears in the Magistrates Courts in a range of summary matters and also instructs counsel and assists in the preparation of County Court matters.
