Sebastian Beale

Criminal Lawyer

Sebastian began his role as a solicitor at James Dowsley & Associates in 2024. He appears as a solicitor-advocate in the Magistrates’ Court in a range of summary matters and also instructs and assists counsel in the preparation of County Court matters including trial proceedings.

Sebastian completed his Juris Doctor at The University of Melbourne in 2023 and went on to complete his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2024, becoming admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria the same year.

Prior to his time as a solicitor, Sebastian worked as a Legal Assistant at the firm for two and half years, working on a range of summary and indictable matters. Throughout his studies, Sebastian also volunteered as a Paralegal at Fitzroy Legal Service and Flemington & Kensington Community Legal Service.

Connecting with clients is a core aspect of Sebastian's practice, as he deeply values hearing the stories about their lives and understanding their unique perspectives. He has a passion for advocacy, driven by a strong sense of justice and fairness, which compels him to tirelessly advocate for his clients. Additionally, Sebastian enjoys the technical side of criminal law, finding great satisfaction in legal analysis and identifying key issues that can influence the outcome of a case. For him, both the personal and analytical aspects of his work are equally important and rewarding.
