Amy Hale

Criminal Lawyer

Amy was admitted to practice in 2024 and started as a solicitor at James Dowsley and Associates soon after. She primarily appears in the Magistrates’ Court for summary proceedings and instructs counsel in County Court matters.

Amy holds a double degree in Arts (Criminology Major) and Law (Honours) from Monash University. Her passion for criminal law was fostered through studying criminology; where she gained expertise in the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of crime commission, knowledge which was refined and applied through her studies of law. She graduated from her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law in 2024, completing electives in both Crime and Family Law.

Throughout university, Amy worked for over two years as a legal researcher for three barristers working in the spheres of criminal, construction and contract law. She completed multiple work experience placements at criminal and insurance law firms after university.

Amy is uniquely passionate about therapeutic jurisprudence, as she believes that justice is only achieved when clients’ stories are understood by the court and their human rights upheld. Amy is a tireless advocate for her clients and is determined to help them achieve the best outcome possible.
