Vanda Hamilton

Criminal Lawyer


Vanda was admitted to practice in 2004. She undertook law as a mature aged student. Prior to studying law Vanda worked as a journalist, in marketing and PR, and in theatre. 

Vanda has a long background working in not for profit law. She has worked as an outreach lawyer at St Kilda Legal Service (now called Southside Justice), at Fitzroy Legal Service, the Mental Health Legal Service, Darebin Community Legal Service, and Victoria Legal Aid. 

Vanda is a founding member of an international group of lawyers called Lawyering On The Margins which involves lawyers from many countries who work with marginal communities. She is on the steering committee for LOTM, which is auspiced by Harm Reduction International.

Vanda has special expertise with, and interest in, vulnerable clients who may be experiencing difficulties with mental health and drug issues. She also has long experience with sex workers and the LGBTQI community and offers clients from those communities a non-judgemental, experienced, and discreet legal consultation and representation for all criminal matters.
