Is a Drug Possession Charge considered a General Offence or a Serious Offence?

Drug Possession, Drug Trafficking or  Drug Cultivation/Manufacture charges can be either a) a Summary Offence or b) an Indictable Offence.

It depends on the amounts in questions and the Class type of drug.

Am I Likely to Receive a Criminal Record?

If you are charged with, and are convicted of, Drug possession or trafficking in Commercial Quantities it is very likely that you will receive a Criminal Record. Some Drug Possession Charges can also result in the defendant having a criminal record, for instance, if you provided or shared drugs with a friend or partner that is considered  to be Trafficking.
